 Heavenly's story began at Humphrey Yogart Café.
After discovering the difficulty in finding quality sugar-free products for his father living with diabetes, then proprietor Jim Sheftel came to the realization others may be in the same predicament. He decided to carry a single rack of sugar-free products at Humphrey's. Customer demand was significant enough to warrant adding more product within weeks. As an increased number of low carb products were introduced to the market, Jim found that the limited space of Humphrey's would no longer be sufficient.
With that, we opened Heavenly Low Carb on September 16, 2003, becoming the first retailer to solely offer quality low carb and sugar free foods to residents of greater Los Angeles. Jim Barkley took over in 2009.
